The TriKin (Insulated Joist Floor) starts with structurally engineered steel trusses that are designed to be at least twice the strength required by code.  Presently, trusses are able to clear span up to 33 feet.  Soon we’ll offer longer trusses.  The system uses high strength corrugated steel decking, two inch insulation sheets,  radiant tubing and steel wire mesh.  These components are covered with four inches of 3/4 inch aggregate concrete.  The thermal mass created by the floor provides a tremendous benefit in maintaining the heating and cooling of the home or building.  With the clear spans available, there is little concern for bearing wall issues.

The trusses are painted standard gray, although practically any color is available.  Powder coating is an available option, again with a wide color selection.
